feral fox with carcass of kangaroo

Fox with kangaroo carcass IMG 1261 - Foxes were introduced to Australia in the early years of its colonization by the British, and were welcomed for the role they played in the 'sport' of hunting. Today these feral animals, which prey on domestic livestock and on native wildlife, have outlived their welcome however. This fox, spotted in north-western NSW, was feeding on the bloodied carcass of a kangaroo that had been killed after a collision with a vehicle on an isolated outback road.
