corella feeding on silky oak

corella feeding on flowers of Grevillea robusta, silky oak treee

Little corella Cacatua sanguinea IMG 3158 - Many Australian parrots, such as corellas, are cursed by farmers as they feed on grain crops. Flocks, often of several hundred birds, cause considerable damage to farm crops, but the birds also enjoy a feast of their natural foods. This bird, photographed in the wild in NSW Australia, was feeding, together with several others, on the seeds and flowers of a native silky oak tree, Grevillea robusta.
