female satin bowerbird

Female satin bowerbird, Ptilonorhynchus Violaceus D548E - The male satin bower bird has a passion for anything blue, and uses whatever blue objects he can find - such as berries, scraps of paper or plastic, and bottle caps - to decorate the bower that he creates to attract a mate. This female Australian bowerbird, photographed at Ben Boyd National Park in NSW, was simply searching for food among the leaf litter on the forest floor.
