Lewin's honeyeater

Lewin's honyeater at bird bath IMG 2494 - Insects, which are occasionally caught in flight, form part of this bird’s diet, as does the nectar produced by flowers, and although Lewin’s honeyeaters prefer to feast on small fruits and berries, they’ll also peck at larger soft fruit such as pawpaws. This bird was visiting a bird bath in the photographer's garden after feeding on the nectar of flowers of an adjacent callistemon tree.
