white-browed scrubwren chick

white-browed scrubwren

White-browed scrub wren Sericornis frontalis, IMG 1263 - At first glance, the white-browed scrubwren might be seen as one of the most appealing wild creatures, but this is a bird with a vibrant personality that makes it a delight to watch. It’s the most common and widespread of the five species of scrubwrens that call Australia home, and is a resident of the rainforests, woodlands, and heaths of a coastal region that stretches from northern Queensland to around Adelaide in South Australia. It has also made itself at home in the photographer's extensive bushland garden, and is pictured here with food for its chick that began its life in a nest among dense ferns.
