Wood duck duckling

wood duck duckling

Wood duck duckling, Chenonetta jubata, IMG 3040 - Wood ducks are a species that’s widespread in Australia, although they’re not found in the far northern areas of the continent or in the most arid inland regions. And although they’re quite at home in urban parks that offer them adequate sources of food and water, their diverse range of habitats includes grasslands and woodlands that are adjacent to lakes and waterways, wetlands, calm coastal inlets, and farm dams.

This baby bird was photographed at the botanic gardens in the Queensland city of Bundaberg.
