singing honeyeater among red flowers of Templetonia retusa

Singing honeyeater, Lichenostomus virescens IMG 7564 - The colourful and nectar laden flowers of this Australian native shrub, Templetonia retusa, attract several species of birds, including honeyeaters. The plant is commonly known as 'Cocky's Tongue' and it is found, in the wild, only in the Flinders Ranges and on a narrow coastal strip stretching from near Kangaroo Island in South Australia to Shark Bay in Western Australia.
