ageratina adenophora

crofton weed ageratina adenophora flwoers, invasive weed species in Australia

Ageratina adenophora - Crofton weed IMG 8121 - This plant, with its masses of white flowers, is a common sight in many areas of NSW where many people erroneous believe that it is a native species. It is, in fact, an unwelcome invader. Originally grown as a garden plant, it has become well established in the bush and is a declared weed species. Like many weeds, it thrives in areas that have been cleared of their original native vegetation, including grazing land, and while the plant produces an attractive floral display, it is poisonous to horses.
