Goanna D201 - These Australian large monitor lizards are savage carnivores, but pose no
threat to humans. Their diet consists of almost anything they can get their
teeth into, and that includes other reptiles including snakes, other lizards,
frogs, and birds and their eggs. They frequently enter chicken coops and eat any
eggs they find, but when living in a forested garden they are invaluable allies
in the ongoing battle against insects pests. They rummage among the leaf litter and mulch on the soil's
surface in search of beetles and other insects, and none stand a chance once a
goanna is on their trail.
