The still waters of a lagoon near the tiny New South Wales town of Pilliga that
lies on the edge of the Australian outback
create a picture of tranquillity in a landscape dominated by forests. The region
is at the heart of an extensive forestry
area where timber, primarily native cypress pine, is logged. The forests are
believed to be home to Australia's legendary
Yowie, an large ape / man creature.
