Australian landscape with murray river and snow capped snowy mountains near Towong NSW

Murray River at Towong NSW IMG 1596 - The Snowy Mountains tower above the Murray River, one of Australia's most important waterways, as it flows through a rural landscape near Towong where the states of NSW and Victoria meet. The Murray River, which passes through three states, is the world's third longest navigable river. It begins as a trickle of water in the Snowy Mountains and, at the end of its 2,520km journey, finally unites with the ocean at Goolwa in South Australia.
