jetty at port Germein

historic long jetty at Port Germein, on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, shrouded in mist

Jetty in mist at Port Germein IMG 9681 - The Port Germein jetty, when it was constructed in the late 19th century, was the longest wooden jetty in the world. Storms and wild seas reduced its length several decades ago, but today, at 1.5 metres long, it's still an impressive structure. A walk on a winter's morning seemed like a journey into the mists of time as fog shrouded the historic jetty and hid the ocean and the horizon from view.
