Tillandsia stricta

tillandsia stricta air plant bromeliad with pink bracts and blue flowers groing on tree trunk

Tillandsia stricta IMG 4349 - Tillandsias, which are members of the Bromeliad family of plants, are commonly referred to as 'air plants'. Many originate in South America, and in their natural habitat they grow on the trunks of trees, on fallen logs, and even on power lines. They might seem unimpressive plants, but when they burst into bloom they add a gaudy splash of colour to a tropical garden or greenhouse.
