Australian great egret IMG 9866A - The great egret is a large water bird, and one of these beautiful creatures in flight is a spectacular sight, particularly as shown here, with its great wings extended and against a background of azure blue sky. This bird was photographed in the wild at the botanic gardens in the Queensland city of Bundaberg, Australia.
