082   This curious piece of equipment in the Sturt National Park in the Australian outback is a whim, a device used for hauling water up from deep underground wells. It was turned by a camel ( many of which were used in inland regions of the country due to their ability to travel and work for long periods without water ) with the water directed into a long trough to quench the thirst of  the large flocks of sheep that roamed across the plains of what was once Mount Wood Station.
