D097E     Australian green tree frogs are said to be in decreasing numbers in some areas of the country due to the destruction of their habitat. But in areas where there are suitable conditions for their survival and pools of water where they can breed, they thrive in large numbers. People who live in rural residential areas of the northern regions of Australia often complain of the large number of these reptiles that have taken up residence in their ,homes, for they are happy to live in gutters, down pipes, a laundry, bathroom, or toilet, or anywhere where there is water, a damp sheltered environment, and a dark corner in which, being nocturnal animals, they can sleep during the day.
