to the origins of the brightly coloured rainbow lorikeet's common name. This
Australian member of the parrot family is a nectar feeding species that is found
in large and noise flocks in many areas of Australia. This photo was taken when
a wild bird landed on a picnic table in a national park where the photographer -
also a travel writer - was compiling her notes.
