This wallaby, photographed in the wild in an Australian wilderness national
park, has a large joey - a baby -
in her sagging pouch. Unlike the red kangaroos that are one of the
most familiar wildlife species in Australia, and that
live in vast numbers on the plains of the Australian outback, this species
thrives, though in lesser numbers, in dark
and shaded forests.
