Eucalyptus Weevil

Eucalyptus weevil, Hypera species, IMG 4232A - Any mention of weevils may trigger thoughts of wriggling maggots in flour, rice, or other grains, and while the larvae of the rice weevil and some related species are far from welcome, the eucalyptus weevil knows its place and has no intention of exchanging its natural habitat for a domestic environment. Eucalyptus trees are all it demands for its survival, for it feeds exclusively on the leaves and the soft bark of young twigs of these native trees.
