PHOTOS AND BOOKS
This website, Photographs of Australia, began many years ago as a place to showcase the best of my vast collection of images, but one day gremlins secretly and silently wrecked havoc on my files. When I discovered that my hard work had been obliterated, probably with little more than the click of a mouse, I was as happy as a mafia informant who’s just learnt that he’s next in line for a concrete overcoat.
The site is finally back up and running again, although with a greatly reduced number of images, but more will be added on a regular basis.
My images cover everything Australian – from this amazing country’s great diversity of wildlife to its spectacular landscapes. But there’s now more to discover here than a continually growing gallery of photos.
For many years I worked as a freelance journalist and travel writer, with my material published in newspapers and magazines not only in Australia but also in the UK, the USA, New Zealand, and Canada, but in recent years my life has taken some new and unexpected twists and turns. And in 2020, I began something that I swore vehemently that I’d never do. I began to write a book.
Now, in 2026, I have completed six books, all published by New Holland Publishers, on the topics of gardening and Australian wildlife, with each containing around 300 spectacular images that have been drawn from my collection.
I invite you to take a break from the chaos of life, to sit back and relax for a while, to read the extracts from my books, and to enjoy the amazing photos of Australia that are on show here.
